So in the end there was no dramatic finale but a concert for us, I hope that see you again at the end of the episode means there'll be a second season but I won't keep my hopes up.

I wish this had more episodes but it was a fun ride, I definitely enjoyed more than I thought I would. I'll miss the way Niyodo says "Asahi-chan", his voice is not the common kind when he's himself so it's pretty distinct.

The concert was really funny with Niyodo openly complaining and being more honest than he should be in front of his fans, poor Yoshino must have been sweating trying to keep his composure but it should just be another normal day for him.

I thought it was a really neat detail adding Asahi's voice singing alongside ZINGS in Overcome The Lost (the ballad), I'm glad Niyodo told her to switch places with him so that the hidden member of ZINGS could also partake in the anniversary concert.

And of course the fans as well were fun additions to the concert, hearing them fangirling over them always adds to the enjoyment.

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

Me too.... I won't keep any hope, BUT if this gets a second season, I would be so pleased

It was amazing that we basically got a concert as a final episode and at no point felt bored. It was probably helped by Yoshino being the Tsukkomi to Niyodo's boke.

Me too. I really loved that Asahi's voice was added to the second to last song and she had her own 3D Model briefly flash. In fact, I kinda wish for a moment, the 3D animation dancing was Asahi and Yoshino if only briefly, especially to make Setouchi lose his mind for one scene and start fanboying hard

The fans being MVP like always

For me, this is a solid 7/10 overall.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

I'm actually surprised you gave this a good rating.

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

What did you think my rating was if I may ask? XD

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

5? Maybe? I'm not too sure, I just wasn't expecting a high rating haha.

Rannen19 • 1 year ago

would have been better if they have Asahi's background story after her death they communicate with friends and family of Asahi but still good in the end.

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

Would be cool if Asashi wasn't really dead, but was in a coma and no one know about it. Would be great she comeback to life and sing with the two boys.

reiko • 1 year ago

this was okay..I will totally miss niyodo fans..they were hilarious 😂😂

guesswho • 1 year ago

Ngl Niyodo fans are what make this anime great for me. This was a really funny ride... I gonna miss them

Tribal Nutria • 1 year ago

i wish niyodo smirked again. it would've been a nice touch with him being genuine with his speech

Veldora • 1 year ago

Will miss it.

Sad this anime have 10 episodes only. I enjoyed watching this every week and love the comedy here. I'm going to miss Asahi and all those crazy niyodo fans xD

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

The best about this was the comedy xD

Veldora • 1 year ago

Yea, this was fun. Gonna miss it fosho.

segrex • 1 year ago

emily is such a mood hahahahahaha

Nymphaea • 1 year ago

I'm actually so sad that this is over, it was a really fun series between all the characters' dynamics and the hardcore fanclub's shenanigans (yes, including you, Setouchi)

I got chills when Asahi's voice got added into the ballad chorus and her image flashed, that was such a nice way to acknowledge her as the hidden member. Very glad that the episode didn't end with her heading to the afterlife haha, can't lose God Mode Niyodo after all!

Phantom of the Idol is brought to you by Studio Gokumi, the studio behind Tsurezure Children, Kiniro Mosiac, Murenase Seton Gakuen, Endro, and has collabed with AXsiZ to give us Seiren, Tonari no Kyuuketsuki-san, and the infamous World's End Harem. As you'd expect, this show is basically your standard idol anime. As a fan of Love Live, maybe I've been spoiled by S2 of Nijigasaki back in April and again this season with S2 of Superstar, but while this has been a joy to watch considering this season's completely lackluster and hard to discuss the best of Summer 2022 WITHOUT mentioning sequels, I'd be lying if I said I got my money's worth.

But let's discuss the positives first. I DO like the chemistry between Asahi and Niyodo, and it's been a joy to see Niyodo grow to become the idol he is now. Nao Toyama does a great job as Asahi as well, and Kazuki's VA Shun Horie isn't a piece of crap, unlike a certain protagonist in Rent-A-Girlfriend. The Niyodo fan club always steal the show whenever they appear. Sadly, that's all the positives.
As far as negatives go, the CGI is stiff and DOES take you out of the show at times. The characters are bland; Kazuki and Niyodo are what you'd expect, the Niyodo fangirls are basically....well, hardcore idol fans, and Asahi is just Nao Toyama being....well, Nao Toyama. The comedy is a mixed bag, and the same can be said with the writing.

Overall, the show DOES have its good moments, and while an inoffensive show, there's just better options than this that I would sooner watch before I even consider watching this. I don't hate the show, but I DO think it could've been better. If you're a Nao Toyama fan, or you just wanna chill and have some fun, go ahead and watch this, otherwise, I suggest holding this off until you have some downtime, or maybe save this for a rainy day. If you like idols, if you haven't already, check out Love Live, Zombieland Saga, and Idolmaster if you haven't already!
Final Verdict: 7/10

i wasn't expecting much from this serries but it did give a lot of feels

DesuYoda • 1 year ago

CGI-Kun needed to hype themselves up for this episode...
Farwell, ghost Idol show...we need a spin-off that is just the fans, and more manager "ara-ara" san.

Tinwe • 1 year ago

I wish they'd focus more on the comedy in the finale, their songs are meh and the dance animation hurts my eyes.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Overview:
I would say if you would compare this to "Idoly Pride"!! I'd say Idoly Pride would be better with more of the drama and in animation since all the singing scenes and such was 3D cgi that this cgi made Ex-Arm look like the better ladder to climb with in a phrase term. Although this's was good on perks with it's comedy and character building with the characters and left open for a S2 as the other being original and Kami-Kazuidol following a manga.
*The VA's did great and gave us some good comedy.
*The ending gave us a good happy note with a concert ep.
*The norm animation outside the cgi was fair.
And this left a good impression which I would say this gives a 6/10 since as most idol anime I watch would be hit or miss being from source material or original that would catch my eye.
Even though this one of those not the popular kinds of anime it was enjoyable but it self is lackluster compared to some others.

Unkrowned • 1 year ago

Overall decent series although I wish they shortened the crazy fan scenes, Niyodo apathethic personality sure made this fun to watch

wwlaos • 1 year ago

I'm gonna miss this show. Obviously Niyodo's fans were the highlight of the anime, but I also really enjoyed Niyodo himself and Asahi as well. The chemistry between Niyodo and Asahi was a joy to watch. I absolutely loved Niyodo's voice, especially while singing. I'm not someone who particularly cares about the voice actors themselves, so there isn't one I really follow, but there are some voices that I love hearing and after this show I'd have to say Imai Fumiya is one of them.

Satoshi Ookami • 1 year ago

So the last episode was a concert with ZINGS songs, that's valid for an episode called FINAL STAGE for sure.

Awwww, dat Encore call :D
So sweet :D
And dat invite 'one member still did not participate' :D

Naobou doesn't plan to ascend, LMAO :D

Definitely a good watch.
I started for Naobou and stayed for the chemistry between all 3 :D

Oya? See You Again?
